Back in the Day !! By: Jennifer Reed

There is so much history and untold stories behind this old
rock. The other day, I was talking to one of my teachers, and he told
me some of the stories behind this school that not too many people
probably remember.
Caprock was originally designed to be similar to a Jr. College,
(hint one good reason for all the openness and glass windows being
everywhere). The first classes to attend here were in the year of "penny
loafers and socks" which were the things to wear in 1963-1964.
The sports way back when kind of changed, but they helped set us
up to become what we are today! The football team had no wins but were
the only ones to score against theTascosa Rebels. Basketball won 1 game,
and the wrestling team made 4th in the city tournament. Band received a
#1, and the choir put on the musical "Annie Get Your Gun."
Even though it was so long ago when the first school song was
sung by Nancy Rockwell and Gary Jones, buildings have changed and some
traditions have been forgotten, but one thing seems to be the same and
that is, "WE ARE THE TOP OF THE ROCK!"
