Engineering in School By: David Lewis

Have you ever wondered who created the chair you are sitting in or the car that you drive? Well, engineers are the ones responsible. Everyday, new ideas are being created and made into new products and things that we can use to make our lives easier and more care-free. As a student at AACAL, we are being trained in the basics of the engineering world. We are able to do projects that will give us an idea of the type of things that we will experience in the engineering profession. We also are taught the many fields that exist in engineering. For example, I am interested in the field of architectural engineering which mostly deals with the design of buildings and structures. These are just some of the things that we have the opportunity to learn and do. Right now, we are designing and building equipment that can be used to help physical therapy patients. Engineering is a very fun thing to learn and do, and I hope this gives you a better idea of what it really is.
